our story

Kristi grew up with a family dog in the home as well, but her allergies as she grew up were a significant hindrance to her being able to have a pet in the house.

Our kids absolutely love dogs and as they grew up we had a couple of “dad’s” hunting partners along the way.  Due to Kris’s allergies we were unable to have a dog in the house so we added a very nice shed with an outdoor area for our hunting dogs.  We adopted Makai and at the age of 2 ½, he was diagnosed with Autism.  Our research into how to help kids with Autism led us to the realization that a well-trained dog can help kids with Autism to connect and to calm and so much more.  However we needed a dog that would be able to be in the house and not affect our family’s allergies.  We researched many breeds. We needed a dog that would be intelligent enough to be easily trained for Makai’s needs and the temperament that would allow a child with Autism to love on them and return the love even in a “tantrum”.  That led us to the doodle.

We searched for the right breed and the right dog for us and we came to Rue an F1b labradoodle who is absolutely amazing.  She is low/no shedding.  Our goal with Rue outside of being a member of our family is to provide the best companion or possibly therapy dog for someone who wants that perfect dog.  We have seen what this looks like and we want others to experience the same joy and unconditional love a dog provides.

Tim’s grandpa when he was growing up raised Chocolate Labrador Retrievers and he has always been drawn to the breed because of the wonderful all around dogs they are.  Our love for the outdoors and hunting hasn’t faded and Tim always wants to have a good bird dog to be his hunting partner or just ride in his truck partner.  Rini is an AKC registered Labrador Retriever that is an absolute joy.  Her personality, her drive, her love for her humans is so great.  One of the big reasons Labradors make such good Therapy dogs.  There is a picture of Nyiah giving Rini a hug and you can just see the smile on Rini’s face because of the pure joy and the unconditional love a dog will give.  We want to be able to improve the breed through our Rini.  She is all that a Labrador should be and our family would love to help provide your family a great versatile hunting companion, or therapy dog, or just an all-around great member of your family.
